Barack Obama has worked harder than any Chief Executive in modern times to bridge the divide between left and right in order to change the tone in Washington. The tone you are hearing today is the white noise of a plaintiff wail. Democrats are writhing in agony after being rudely and suddenly knifed in the back this weekend by Republicans during a Special Session of Congress.
The paddles were placed on the heart of our Economy by President Obama and his Economic Team. Money would soon begin to flow fast so the Economy could be shocked hard enough and begin beating again. We would be able to breath.
Democrats are operating under enormous pressure to stop the bleeding of jobs, infuse cash and stimulate the organs of job creation. Democrats were operating on the State Budgets at the same time to protect essential State jobs like teachers, cops, firefighters and the muscle of Medicaid. An operation was underway to save other vital organs of our Economy too. Our banking system was being pried open to separate the good from the bad so lending could begin again. Food stamps, unemployment insurance, a quick infusion of cash the life blood of Economic Activity was on board and once there was a mild improvement in our overall condition a prescription was written for a steady course of job creation. It would have worked if we got enough of the elixir. The message was “don’t be stingy” on the meds.
The Senate over the weekend said NO to those things, choosing instead to spend 3 Trillion on Tax Cuts. Yes 3 Trillion is the actual cost of what they proposed instead of the Operation every expert recommended.
The cost of the “Stimulus” rose by billions, but Senate Republicans kept chopping off body parts trying to replace them with TAX CUTS. Death by a thousand TAX CUTS.
President Obama has positioned himself in the Centrist Middle. There is on coming traffic on both sides ready to take him out. What was arm twisting has elevated to a near death experience. America is dying and Republicans are happy to see it go, as long as a Democratic President takes the hit. And that ladies and gentleman is where we are. Stuck in the middle of a black hole of bankruptcy, deflation, joblessness and yes even hunger spreading like Ebola. The Economy continues to spiral out of control causing more and more devastation as it picks up speed and virulence and Republicans want Death. Death by a Thousand Tax Cuts. Anything to kill us all on a Democrats watch.
There is no deal to be made in the Middle of the Road, only traffic whizzing by on the right and left and if you stay in the Middle you’re bound to get creamed. The next thing you know the Jaws of Life are trying to pry you loose to take you to safety. And believe me they won’t be driving in the Middle of the Road to get you to the Trauma Center. We all know better.
Obama is squarely in the middle. Centrist. No where. You can not drive anything when you’re in the Middle of the Road. Drive on the left or right but choose a lane and start driving this thing to our front door NOW before there’s a really hideous crash that we won’t recover from. Get out of the Middle of the Road!
