(Billy Hallowell) A pregnant teenager in Houston, Texas, is suing her parents, claiming that they are trying to coerce her to have an abortion. The 16-year-old, who is reportedly two months pregnant, is being represented by the Texas Center for Defense of Life (TCDL), a pro-life legal organization. For now, the girl and her unborn child are protected by a temporary restraining order, but the battle is far from over.
According to KPRC-TV, the eight-page lawsuit (read it in its entirety here) lists purported allegations waged by the girl, who is identified only by the initials R.E.K, as she’s a minor. In addition to verbal abuse, the document claims that the girl’s mother suggested potentially slipping her daughter an abortion pill.
The teen also alleges that her father threatened to take her to have an abortion, saying that the decision was final — one that the teen would have no say in.
