(Miami Gardens, Fla.) - The Miami Dolphins sit alone atop the AFC East at 2-and-0.
The Dolphins held off a late rally by AFC East rival New England Patriots for a 24-17 win at Gillette Stadium.
Tua Tagovailoa completed 21-of-30 attempts for 249 yards, one touchdown and an interception as he improved to 5-and-0 against New England.
Raheem Mostert erupted for 121 rushing yards and two TD's, while Tyreek Hill found the end zone for the third time this season.
After the win, Hill took aim at the Patriots’ fan base.
“It felt tremendous, man. Those fans are some of the worst fans in the NFL, and I’m going to stand on that, man, because they are real nasty,” said Hill. “Some of the things that they were saying, I wouldn’t say in church. It felt great to wave goodbye to the fans, and I’ll do it again, ‘Bye’.”
The Fins host the Denver Broncos in Week Three.
The Buccaneers beat Chicago 27-17 in Tampa, while Jacksonville lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 17-9.
In college football, Florida State football is still ranked third in the Coaches poll after a 31-29 win at Boston College on Saturday.
FSU will play at number-23 Clemson next Saturday. The Noles are favored by one-and-a-half points.
Florida is unranked despite its upset win over Tennessee which is ranked 20th. The Canes are ranked 21st.
Georgia is ranked first and Michigan second.
